Step 1

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, white vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Add cornstarch and stir until smooth to create the teriyaki glaze. Then, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.

Step 2

Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and brown them on all sides until golden and crisp. Pour in the prepared teriyaki sauce and let the tofu cook for a few minutes per side, absorbing the flavour.

Step 3

Continue cooking until the sauce thickens to a rich, glossy consistency, coating each piece of tofu. Remove from heat and serve immediately. Top with toasted sesame seeds for a final crunchy touch.
