Step 1

Finely chop the carrots and onions to form an aromatic base. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a pan, then add the vegetables and red lentils, allowing them to cook together and absorb flavour. Afterwards, add water and leave to cook until soft.

Step 2

Transfer the mixture into a bowl. Combine with fresh breadcrumbs and sun-dried tomatoes until smooth. Then shape into burgers using a pastry cutter or by hand.

Step 3

Place the burgers on a baking tray in the oven. Use the multitech cooking function on your Smeg oven and follow the instructions for recommended temperature and time settings.

Step 4

Grill the vegetables using the Smeg griddle until tender and lightly charred. Then, carefully plate the burgers alongside the grilled vegetables, creating a visually appealing dish with vibrant colours and varied textures.
