Smeg, which has always been committed to the production of Made in Italy design appliances, combines its historical vocation for creativity with scrupulous attention to the search for low-impact solutions that help make the company self-sufficient in terms of energy.
The collaboration with Enel X, a provider of innovative solutions driving the global energy transition, is the most recent of the projects related to the generation of sustainable value undertaken by the Emilian company.
The intervention involves the construction of two latest generation photovoltaic systems at the SMEG production sites in Guastalla (RE) and Bonferraro (VR), consisting of more than 900 photovoltaic modules equipped with power optimizers. The plants, which each year will produce 4GWh of energy, will reduce the overall average consumption of the two plants by 25%, avoiding the emission of 22 thousand tons of CO2 into the atmosphere for the Guastalla site and 19 thousand tons for the Bonferraro site in the next 25 years.
